LEASING A FULL SET OF NEW PIANOS TO BECOME AN ‘ALL-STEINWAY SCHOOL’

As Commander Richard Coupe, OBE and bursar to Wellington School approached retirement, he embarked on a mission to renovate the music department and help raise the profile of the excellent music education offered at Wellington School.

Needing to keep the school’s capital expenditure under control, he comments, “we are honoured to be designated as an ‘All-Steinway School’ but this would not have been possible without the flexibility that Steinway’s lease plan allowed, and the quality of service and support that we received”.

Steinway & Sons artist Julian Joseph generously volunteers his time to participate in selecting the new Steinway pianos at Steinway Hall, London, and the delivery day even made the BBC news.

In ‘Director of Music’, Andrew Trewella’s BBC interview, his delight was clear for all to see. When asked if Steinway pianos are really necessary, his answer was simply “yes!”.
