Drew Steanson is currently in his final year of undergraduate studies at the Guildhall School under the tutelage of Philip Jenkins. He started piano lessons in January 2007 and passed Grade 8 with distinction in February 2010. Before the Guildhall School he studied at Peter Symonds College, Winchester where he participated in the Hampshire Specialist Music Course and gave a concerto performance at Thornden Hall. In his first year of Guildhall he won the title of Newbury Young Musician of the Year 2012, and recently won the 2015 Guildhall Romantic Piano Prize. He has played to many distinguished pianists including Angela Hewitt, Vladimir Tropp and Idil Biret and recently played in the Jacqueline du Pre hall in St Hilda’s College, Oxford. Upcoming concerts include a performance in the Temple Music Young Emerging Artists Series. Drew Steanson gratefully acknowledges the generous support from the Hampshire Foundation for Young Musicians.
