BIOGRAPHY – KATALIN CSILLAGH:

Internationally acknowledged concert pianist, Steinway Artist, Katalin Csillagh former professor of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, Hungary, and visiting professor at Tufts University, Boston, USA, is currently an acclaimed piano teacher in London with award winning students. She is a PhD candidate in Word and Music Studies, researching and premiering vocal compositions by contemporary woman composers.

She has had concerts in New York, Boston, Paris, Vienna, London, Toronto, Buenos Aires, Salzburg, Munich, Bayreuth, Budapest, Toulouse, Nice and other cities and festivals as soloist, chamber musician and soloist of piano concertos. She performed with such artists as José Cura, Martha Argerich, Péter Somodari, solo cellist of the Wiener Philharmonic Orchestra, Priya Mitchell, Naoko Inoue, Mark Milhofer, and worked as repetiteur with several internationally acclaimed opera singers.

Her Argentinian themed concerts with star tenor José Cura, My Homeland’s Songs, had a great success in several countries, among others in front of a full house at the Theatre Du Capitole, Toulouse, France. She played Piazzolla for two pianos with Martha Argerich, Alberto Portugheis and Eduardo Hubert at the Argentina 200 Festival at Kings Place, London. She played a concert with cellist Carlos Nozzi, principal cellist of the Theatro Colon, former member of Piazzola’s own octet.

Winner of international scholarships, she studied at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto with John Perry and Leon Fleisher, graduated with top honours as student of György Nádor from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, and the Mozarteum, Salzburg from the class of Imre Rohmann. She attended the master classes of Alberto Portugheis, Boris Berezowski, Jenő Jandó, Oleg Maisenberg, László Baranyay and Ferenc Rados, and took part in the improvisation course of Messiaen’s pupil Emmy Henz-Diémand. She won the first prize at the international piano competition of EPTA, London and the chamber music competition of the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe, London.

She recorded Beethoven’s G major Piano Concerto with the Sopron Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Péter Kóczán, where she is invited to return to record Schumann’s Piano Concerto. Her CD Shades of Bach (BMC Records) with saxophonist János Vázsonyi have scored great success in several countries, along her solo albums, Sonatas, Chopin 24 Preludes and Improvisations and her Piazzolla album, Astor. Her CD, Glowing Sonorities (Hungaroton Records) was released with the recommendation of Zoltán Kocsis.

BIOGRAPHY – ANTONIO MORABITO:

Antonio Morabito is an Italian pianist and a graduate of the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London, where he earned a Master’s degree in Piano Performance. His studies at RCM were generously supported by the Members of the Board of “Il Circolo.”

Antonio is a dedicated piano tutor and teaches through the Royal College of Music Teaching Service. He also serves as a Piano Professor at the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in London. Additionally, he works as a choir conductor at St. Augustine’s Church in Hammersmith.

In recent years, Antonio has taught piano in both private and public schools in Italy. He previously graduated with distinction in Piano from the Cilea Conservatory under the guidance of Marialaura Cosentino, who continues to be a mentor to him. While at the Cilea Conservatory, he also studied Composition. As a composer, Antonio has written solo piano and chamber music, some of which he has performed in public concerts and on television broadcasts in Reggio, Italy.

In 2019, Antonio won a scholarship from the European Commission and earned a Master’s degree with top honors from the J. Rodrigo Conservatory in Valencia, where he studied piano and chamber music with Adolfo Bueso and choir conducting with Nadya Stoyanova. In July 2019, he also graduated with distinction in Chamber Music from the Cilea Conservatory.

In addition to his musical achievements, Antonio holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Messina. He has participated in masterclasses and advanced piano specialization courses with esteemed musicians such as Freddy Kempf, Enrique Batiz Campbell, Cristiano Burato, François-Joël Thiollier, Michele Campanella, Benedetto Lupo, Stefan Stroissnig, and Leslie Howard.

Antonio has received numerous prizes and achieved high rankings in national and international piano competitions, including the Brussels International Piano Competition, the International Competition Città di Barletta, the Mandanici Award, the Rome Competition, the Làszlò Spezzaferri International Music Competition, the International Music Competition “Città di Pesaro,” the VII Odin International Music Online Competition, the “San Donà di Piave” Piano International Competition, the International Youth Music Competitions in Atlanta, USA, the London Classic Music Competition, and the International Moscow Music Competition in Moscow, Russia.

In 2014, Antonio was honored with the title of “Young Artist of Excellence for the Musical Arts” by the “UNICRAM” Association. He performed in the “Best Italian Graduates” concert season in Castrocaro Terme in September 2017. Antonio has played in prestigious venues such as St. Paul’s Church in London, La Fenice Theater in Venice, Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall in London, Trinity College in Cambridge, the Italian Cultural Institute in London, and many others.

Together with Beatrice Limonti and Asia Bonuccelli, Antonio founded the BriosOrchestra, a symphony orchestra composed of young, talented musicians based in London. The orchestra’s mission is to contribute to the betterment of society through the promotion of musical culture. Antonio is also among the artists sponsored by the prestigious Keyboard Trust.
