Nichetto collaborates with STEINWAY & SONS to present an extraordinary limited edition — GRAN NICHETTO.

A collection of only 50 Model B SPIRIO | r instruments is available, offering three inspired variations. Gran Nichetto boasts elegantly sculpted legs accented with brass or stainless steel. The music desk, distinguished by the fine luster of Italian leather, stands out against the high-polish finish of the case. The gracefully tapered top stick supports the piano lid, reinforced with brass or stainless-steel hardware integrated into the piano rim. The pedal lyre, a single piece of hand-crafted bent lamination, adds a final touch of craftsmanship. Accompanying Gran Nichetto is a matching bench.

A SENSE OF PLACE

A trip to the Steinway factory in New York evoked nostalgic memories from Nichetto’s childhood. The graceful curves of the classic black pianos, in different phases of assembly, brought to his mind the undulating glossy hulls of the gondolas, the renowned means of transportation navigating the canals of his native Venice.

Nichetto aimed to capture the sleekness and vitality of the gondola in the intricacies of his pianos, highlighting the lines and embracing the contours throughout every aspect of the instrument.

ELEMENTS OF DESIGN

Nichetto tackled the piano with the same approach he would take with a furniture piece, meticulously analyzing and reshaping all external components in a tight partnership with the skilled artisans at Steinway. He characterizes the integration of these elements as akin to a micro-architecture endeavor, transforming the Grand Piano’s aesthetic in a timeless manner that pays homage to the rich history and tradition of Steinway & Sons.

SCULPTED LEGS

Atop gracefully sculpted legs adorned with brass or stainless-steel accents, the piano’s body exudes an elegant presence.

ITALIAN LEATHER DETAILS

The fine lustre of Italian leather detailing distinguishes the music desk panel and desk plates from the rest of the piano’s high polish finish.

TOP STICK WITH EXPOSED HINGE

The elegantly tapered upper support rod upholds the piano lid, strengthened by the incorporation of brass or stainless-steel hardware seamlessly integrated into the piano rim.

BENT LAMINATION PEDAL LYRE

The pedal lyre pillars are crafted from a single element of hand-bent lamination, complemented by pedals made of brass or stainless steel.
