This one-hour recital will be followed by a short, informal interview with Tom to talk about his life and his choice of music. Please join us for a complimentary glass of fizz + nibbles after the concert and an opportunity to meet the artist.

 

Bio:

Israeli pianist Tom Zalmanov (b. 1999) performs extensively both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. He has won First Prize in all the major national piano competitions in Israel and has received America-Israel Cultural Foundation grants and scholarships from the Israel Philharmonic.

He has been a concerto soloist with the Jerusalem, Haifa and Tbilisi Symphony Orchestras and the Bayer Philharmoniker in Germany – and has performed in New York, Chicago, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, London, Geneva, Moscow and other major cities.

As a graduate of the Jerusalem Music Centre, Tom frequently studies with Murray Perahia, and has participated in masterclasses with Menachem Pressler, Emanuel Ax and Angela Hewitt, amongst others. He has also worked with András Schiff, Mitsuko Uchida, Christoph Eschenbach and Richard Goode and participated in the Marlboro, Ravinia, Oxford and Four Seasons music festivals.

As a chamber musician, Tom has collaborated with such artists as Kim Kashkashian, Mark Padmore, Miriam Fried, Colin Carr and Joseph Lin.

Tom is currently studying towards his Professional Diploma with Prof. Ian Fountain at the Royal Academy of Music, where he has a full scholarship.
